About
Why?
As a serial entrepreneur I have had the opportunity to interact with amazing entrepreneurs on a regular basis. As a result of these interactions and my own experiences, I have a lot of ideas about entrepreneurship, work culture, and technology. MINDdrift is an opportunity for me to sift through these ideas and explore new perspectives for evaluating old problems. In this way, MINDdrift is a journey through the mind of an entrepreneur (me) as well as the minds of other creators, producers, and innovators.
Who am I?
I was born in New York City and was fortunate to have spent my formative years living and attending school in Manhattan. I began my education at a progressive school in Greenwich Village, where I learned to think differently, and evaluate problems not only to find a solution, but to understand the process behind finding a solution. It was at this school that I discovered I had a learning "disAbility," an obstacle many other entrepreneurs face. Trying to figure out the best way for me to learn was a tall order, but I credit my amazing teachers at the time with helping me to make sense of my situation.
The discipline and determination with which I had to face my learning disAbility has helped me get where I am today. In order for me to be successful at learning and in school in general, I had to be optimistic while still facing reality. This meant putting in a lot of hard work and a lot of extra hours to get the results I wanted in school. While I was teaching myself to overcome this challenge, I was also developing a strong work ethic, and a commitment to getting any task completed. Most importantly, however, I emerged from the experience with a deep understanding of how my brain learns best.
As far back as I can remember I was involved in entrepreneurial endeavors and this passion continued through high school, when I founded WebAds 360 and ReturnPath and in college with GotVMail.
Today I am lucky enough to have an amazing group of team members at
GotVMail. We learn from each other and our main goal is empowering entrepreneurs to succeed on a daily basis.
Community involvement is critical to long term growth and legacy, so I spend my time with the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) and Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA). In my personal time, I enjoy scuba diving, playing squash, traveling, and finding new restaurants as well as enjoying old favorites.
